Redesign for Jose Soto Architects

Jose Soto Architects came to EEDSGN for a redesign of their website, originally made with a basic CMS. Although it offered the flexibility of a CMS it wasn’t styled how they wanted plus no SEO was possible with this system. This resulted in them having poor to no ranking in search results. The solution was simple, a WordPress driven CMS system customised by EEDSGN.

Most of the website retains a bright and airy feel. However, to maximise the impact upon entering the website, for the frontpage we chose a full screen slide show. Not only does it allow to show off the grandeur of his work, but also the attention to detail and quality of materials used.

Orphan Bird Shop Online launched

EEDSGN is now offering WordPress driven e-shops, a simple and powerful way to sell your products or services online!

The admin side allows for easy order and stock management, clear e-mail communication with the customer and of course combining website and/or blog with an e-shop.

Photography website added for Sara Lohman

New website added for Swedish photographer Sara Lohman. One of the main requirements was for it to look good on mobile devices. Media queries and elastic images once again saved the day, resulting in a very fresh and minimal design which leaves all focus on the wonderful images of Sara.

3 new projects added

It’s been a while since my last update… but I’m very excited to present to you the latest 3 projects completed.

All three were made using WordPress as CMS. No templates as usual, just the trusty Murtaugh CSS reset template to be sure you start with a clean slate cross browser. With mobile growing in importance for websites, all three were optimised for mobile and tablet using CSS3 media queries. All video resizing done thanks to the great Fitvids by CSS guru Chris Coyier and Paravel.

Future Magazine is a blog in online magazine style. The brief for this project was to make something visually attractive but easy and intuitive in it’s navigation. With the succes of Pinterest it’s clear photo’s are an important part of our online experience nowadays, so a picture grid overview was chosen for the front page and category pages. A very interesting part of this project was the logo design; a design which gives the brand a vintage yet up to date look was chosen. An extra touch was added by using CSS3 animation to make the logo flip on hover.

RCA masters graduate Paul Reynolds was looking to create a website to showcase his latest project, Ray D. O’Reynolds. The site needed to have the capabilities of a CMS but he didn’t want it to look like a blog. Another great site to use WordPress. In this example posts are used to add new projects within both of the websites sections: FM and Shows. All meta and comment parts are taken out, giving it full flexibility, easy to update, without having a blog look.

Sometimes you have a great idea graphically but find coding just causes you a headache? This was the situation for composer Will Shirley. The interface design of Music Designed was done by him and EEDSGN made it into a full functioning website using CSS3/HTML5 and the WordPress CMS. A classic PSD to HTML project. Although this is more a portfolio website for his work, a CMS allows Will to have full control over the content and look of the website and change it at any time.

Another 3 inspiring projects completed with very satisfied clients. On to the next!

New website – AKA Mag

New website launched today for online art/design/fashion/lifestyle/photography platform AKA.
An exciting project taken on by EEDSGN. Much focus was on getting a very clean and open feel, with minimalist touches.
Important for this project was using a responsive design via CSS3 media queries, so the website would be clearly readable even on mobile devices.

New website launched – Mathias Bang, drummer and tutor

New website, created by EEDSGN, launched today for London based drummer and tutor Mathias Bang.

A clean and straightforward design was chosen together with the client. A smooth process, except for a few struggles involving Vimeo for the live videos which are featured on the home page. Vimeo looks great as a media player, but seemed to result in quite a bit of audio latency post upload. Good old Youtube saved the day.

Web artist Rafael Rozendaal using HTML5

Dutch/Brazilian web artist Rafael Rozendaal has started using HTML5 for his latest work called “inner doubts.com”. HTML5 coupled with CSS3 has the benefit over Flash that it can be viewed on portable devices which didn’t support Flash like the iPad and iPhone. Yet it allows for many effects, transitions and animations which could before only be achieved using javascript or flash.
